The criteria or characters that should be kept in mind for choosing material for making the following things are:-
1) Filaments: For this purpose we use the material having high melting point. Tungsten is the best example of it.
2) Elements of heating devices: This should also be high melting point.
3) Fuse wire: The materials that we use as fuse wire have less melting point. This is because if load will increase suddenly then the fuse wire will melt easily and protect our appliances.
