no Gerrard was not pleased to see the intruder. this was because he was a playwright and had to b somewhere the night the intruder broke in his house. the intruder planned to kill Gerrard and take his place for the rest of his life, because he had killed someone and the police was after him. he thought that Gerrard was the man he would like to replicate, because the both of them were ptetty similar in build.
