No because Venice was taking the flesh which could be very difficult for Shylock to give and dangerous also

No the trail was not fair when we look into the case from Antonio’s shoes....though it seems fair from shylock’s side at times. Portia outwitted Shylock by sharply noticing the blunt statement in the bond. She cleverly prevented Antonio from his ill fate by asking Shylock to take a pound of flesh without spilling one drop of Christian blood on the floor. In the text she says “...If thou shall shed one drop of Christian blood, thy lands and goods under the law of Venice will be confiscated unto the state of Venice”

( I remember those lines cuz i enacted a part in the play hehe)
