Answer:

9%

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of first bat = Rs.840

He sells the first bat at the gain of 15%

So, Profit = 15\% \times 840

             = 126

S.P. of Second bat  =CP + Profit = 840+126 =Rs.966

Cost of Second bat = Rs.360

He sells the Second bat at the loss of 5%

So, Loss = 5\% \times 360

             = 18

S.P. of Second  bat  =CP - Loss =360-18 =Rs.342

Total S.P. = Rs.966+Rs.342=Rs.1308

Total C.P. =  Rs.840+Rs.360 =Rs.1200

So, Profit = SP-CP = Rs.1308-Rs.1200=Rs.108

So, Profit% = \frac{108}{1200} \times 100

So, Profit% =9%

Hence the gain percent in the whole transaction is 9%.
