wastewater treatment removes most of the contaminants but there is still a risk to the environment and public health because they use many harmful chemicals to remove contaminants and the chemicals are very harmful for the environment and our health. they only remove contaminants like dust particles, mud or any other things but the chemical they use is very ingerious for the environment. so it's still a risk.
hope this helps!!
