Water as ice has a cooling effect whereas water as steam may cause severe burns. ... Whereas, when temperature is increased to 100oC,water is converted to steam. Water assteam has more latent heat than waterin liquid and solid form. Hence, wateras steam can cause severe burnswhile water as ice has a cooling effect.
