SOLUTION::

Apply principle of continuity.

ρA₁V₁ = ρA₂V₂

=> A₁V₁ = A₂V₂

=> (π/4) × D₁² × V₁ = (π/4) × D₂² × V₂

=> D₁² × V₁ = D₂² × V₂

=> D₂² × V₂ = D₁² × V₁

=> D₂² × 4 = 2 × 2 × 1

∴ D₂ = 1 cm
