SOLUTION:-

Given:

Water flows through a cylindrical pipe of internal diameter is 7cm.

So,

Internal radius of the pipe, (r)= d/2

=) 7/2

=) 3.5cm

Convert in metre= 0.035m

Now,

Water inside the pipe forms of cylindrical column.

Speed of water= 5m/s.

Height:

Distance travelled by water in 60second.

Height= Speed × time

Height= 5× 60

Height= 300m

Therefore,

Volume of water that flows from the pipe in 1 min= πr²h

=) 3.14 × 0.035 × 0.035× 300

=) 1.155m³

So,

We know that, 1m³ = 1000litres

=) 1.155m³× 1000l

=) 1155litres

So, volume of water that flows from the pipe in 1 minute = 1155 litres.

Therefore,

⚫Length of rectangular tank, l= 4m

⚫Breadth of rectangular tank, b= 3m

⚫Height of rectangular tank, h=2.31m

Capacity of rectangular tank

Length× breadth× height

=) (4 × 3 × 2.31)m³

=) 27.72m³

Let time taken by the pipe to fill the tank

=) t second.

Volume of water flows from the pipe in 60 second.= 1.155m³

So,

Volume of water flows from the pipe in t second= 1.155/60

=) 0.01925t

According to the question:

=) 0.01925t = 27.72

=) t= 27.72/0.01925

=) t= 144000 seconds

Convert in hours:

=) 144000/3600 hours

=) 40 hours

Hope it helps ☺️
