volume of water in 1/2 hour= 6×1.5×5000
= 45000 m cube
area ×h = 45000
area× 8= 45000
area= 45000/8
area = 5625 m square

shashanksen16: no it is right
shashanksen16: yes standing water is 8 cm . i hurriedly thought that it is 8m
shashanksen16: ok

Hey there !!

Let l be the length , b the wide and h be the depth of the canal ,

Speed of flow of water = 10 km/hr

water flowing in canal in 30 minutes

=( 10,000× 1/2 )m

= 5000m

volume of Water flowing out in 30 minutes

=( 5000×6×1.5 )m³

= 45000m³ ....1)

volume of Water required to irrigate the field

= A×8/100 m³ ......2)

Equating 1). and. 2) , we get

A×8/100 = 45000

= A = 562500 m²

Hope this would help you !!
