When water is boiled, it gets converted into water vapour. That is, liquid state gets converted into gaseous state.

When these water vapours come in contact with the lid of the container which is relatively cooler than the vapours, it gets condensed on the surface of it. Or in other words, gaseous state gets converted back into liquid state and energy is released.

This why we see water droplets on the surface of the lid of a boiling container.
