Given:-

bore diameter, d=0.2 m

throat diameter, d_{t}=0.15 m

differential head, h=0.15 m

To Find:-

Discharge of water

Explanation:-

\text{Bore area, A}=\dfrac{\pi}{4}\times d^{2}=\dfrac{\pi}{4}\times0.2^{2}=0.0314m^{2}\\\\\text{Throat area, } A_{t}=\dfrac{\pi}{4}\times d_{t}^{2}=\dfrac{\pi}{4}\times0.15^{2}=0.01767m^{2}\\\\\text{The standard formula to calculate the discharge in a venturimeter is given by:-}\\\\Q=\dfrac{A\times A_{t}\times\sqrt{2gh}}{\sqrt{A^{2}-A_{t}^{2}}}

\Rightarrow Q=\dfrac{0.0314\times0.01767\times\sqrt{2\times9.81\times0.15}}{\sqrt{0.0314^{2}-0.01767^{2}}}=0.0366m^{3}/s=36.6lps\\\\\text{Therefore, rate of flow of water is 36.6lps}
