Water is never added to acid in order to dilute it . Why ?

water is never added to acid as it will be harmful and will involve some dangerous effect

Because when water is directly poured to acids, it spilts and may also broke the vessel in which it is kept which may harm you. While when we put acid to water, it splits a very little and thus we are bit more safe. But, we have always to take care when playing with acids.
