Water kept in earthen pot cool during summer season give reason why?

Earthen pot has porus wall when water evaporate from outer surface of the Earthen pot . It takes the latent heat of vaporisation from the Earthen pot . Hence , produce cooling.

Water looses its temperature through small pores present in the pot. Hence in an earthen pot (matka) become cool during summer.
