It is well stated that, the Yamuna river doesn't have a proper drainage system in Delhi. Yamuna is merely acting as the drain in Delhi. After Wazirabad , the Yamuna river lost all its fresh water tributaries. Of the total, the 37 % sewage Treatment plant are underutilised . The cumulative assessment of all parameters of water quality indicates that the Yamuna is devoid of pure water, as far as purity is concerned, and acts like a drain. Many harmful industrial and domestic effluents are dumped into the river, making the quality even worse, and making the Yamuna river not less than the drain in Delhi and Wazirabad.
