The substance that pollutes water are called Water pollutants.

Water becomes polluted buy following reasons :-

• Release of harmful Chemicals from industries include arsenic, lead voice wrong, and fluorides which leads to toxicity in plants and animals.

• Discharge of waste directly to the water steam.

• Animal waste could also add dangerous pathogens into the water.

• Water can get polluted by air contaminants that reach the land in water via acid rain.

• Pesticides and Weedicides can pollute the groundwater.

• Ponds become polluted by the deposition of phosphate in the form of algae which appears green in colour called eutrophication. It decreases oxygen level for aquatic organisms in pond.

• Discharge of food waste and detergents in the lakes. and so on.
