Introduction :

Pollution has become a very serious problem nowadays. We know that mixing of unwanted particles in air, water ,soil etc. is called pollution.In many surveys , it has been proved that in our country pollution has increased much. So it becomes a duty of every citizen to control it.

Causes of Water Pollution :

Industries discharge their wastes and effluents into the water resources which causes water pollution. Also animals bathe, people wash clothes in rivers, lakes etc. which cause water pollution. People throw garbages on water resources, heavy load of garbage is discharged into water resources which cause water pollution.

Effects of Water Pollution :

Pollution causes much harms to the health. It invites many diseases for human beings like jaundice , desentry etc.

Prevention against Water Pollution :

Pollution can be prevented by the following ways. :-

• Industries should not be allowed to be established near river banks.
• Animals should be prohibited from bathing in water resources.
• Sewage treatment plants should be used.
• People should not throw garbage on water resources.

People should follow the above rules in order to control water pollution .
