speed of light in a medium = frequency * wavelength

When a light wave enters a medium of refractive index > 1, its speed decreases, and the wave length decreases.    Same way when a light ray enters a rarer medium from a denser medium, the speed increases and wavelength increases.

Frequency remains same as that of the original source of light.


But maximum speed of light = 3 * 10^8 m/s   in vacuum.
