Answer:

Explanation:

Given: The transition takes place between two levels whose sum is 4 and difference is 2

Find: To find the wavelength of spectral line obtained in the spectrum of Li²

Solution: Let us assume that  n1 + n2 = 4

                                          and n1 - n2 = 2

                                             ∴ n1 = 1 , n2 = 3

               Therefore , 1 / λ = R H * Zx^{2} [  1 / 1x^{2}- 1 / 3x^{2} ]   (∵ Z = 3 for Li)

                                          = 109678 * 3x^{2} * 8/9

                                          ∴ λ = 1.14 * 10 nm
