we all know that solar system have a star called sun and we are receiving the light from the sun but why the space looks black ?

Anonymous: Because of the dark matter is present in space in maximum quantity....
ork: It is because of the absence of scattering of light. As there is no tiny particles, there is no scattering of light by them. GOOD QUESTION!

u can see any object when the light reflact by it while space is not reflace the light; becoz space is nfinitely large.
other reson is that; earth is surrounded by a gaseous envelope called the atmosphere which have so many gases, dust etc which are resone for light sccatering and we can see different colour on earth. while on space contains comic dust and elements like hydrogen and helium atoms per cubic centimeter; the density of this are very low and taken as nonexistent in vacuum. so all the light in space will travel in a straight line without any dispersion say refraction and reflection. and so space look black.

bhalaraneha: can i know what is mistake?

One reason is that the sun's light can not make the space appear white because  of the light of the stars.  when the sun or the source of light goes away from you the light of stars are more visible now.

Otherwise many scientists have worked upon it and are brought to different conclusions.
