Answer:

Earth. Specifically, doldrums are ocean belts near the equator. The region is characterized as having little to no wind.

Doldrums are located five degrees to the north and five degrees to the south near the equator

When an object is placed at a distance of 55 cm from a convex lens with a focal length of 20 cm, the image formed is real, inverted, diminished, and is formed at a distance between 20 cm and 40 cm on the other side of the lens.

• Given,

focal length of convex lens (f) =  20 cm

Distance of the object from the lens = 55 cm

=> The object is kept beyond 2f (40 cm).

• To determine the nature, size, and position of the image, let us consider two rays travelling  through the lens, one parallel to the principal axis, and the other passing through the optical centre.

• i) The incident ray parallel to the principal axis passes through principal focus on the other side of the lens.

ii) The incident ray passing through the optical centre emerges out of the lens undeviated.

• The two rays meet at a point between F' and 2F' , i.e., between 20 cm and 40 cm on the opposite side of the lens. As from the image attached below, it can seen that the image formed is real, inverted, and diminished.
