Silver is the best conductor of electricity, still we use copper in electric wires. It is because, copper has high mechanical strength as compared to the silver. Copper has a higher melting point than silver, thus it can carry a greater current.

Also, silver has high chance of being oxidised as compared to copper, thus reducing its quality.

Copper, is also cheaper than silver, which is another reason why copper is used in wiring and not silver. Copper 's amount is more than silver in nature, hence it is suitable to use copper than silver.

gunn2711: we use copper wire instead of silver because silver fastly connect with electricity but copper cannot connect and we easily do whatever we want that is why we use copper wire instead of silver

We do not use silver as the conductor rather than copper because silver is very precious and everyone can't afford it .

So we use copper as the conductor of electricity.
