We know according to Newton's first law of motion
That a object in motion remains in motion until and unless an external force is applied to that object
So my question is this when a basketball in space we give some energy to that basketball then
Does the bold move forever and ever and ever all stops after moving some time
Please please please help me with this and make this answer as fast as you can

The ball stops only when some external force is applied to like like gravitational force, atmospheric pressure etc., in space there is no atmosphere and hence no force so I think the ball will be in continuous motion in space.
This is what I think I'm not sure about the right answer.

Newton's First Law states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force.
