We know that a paper would catch fire much more easily and spontaneously than an iron nail. But it has been observed that when a paper strip is tightly wound on an iron nail, and held over a candle flame for a few seconds, the paper strip does not burn. What could be reason for this?

Explanation:

The paper doesn't burn. The main reason for this consequence is the iron rod, otherwise it can also be air around. According to first reason, the iron rod has a high melting point and is a good conductor of heat and hence absorbs the heat and doesn't allow the paper to reach its ignition temperature. when coming to the second reason if the wind is strong then it is difficult for the paper to burn.
