we know that HCL is present in our stomach, but why our stomach will not burn?

our stomach secreates hcl, pepsin , mucus . the mucus present in the stomach protects the inner surface of the stomach from burning . the layer of mucus is renewed every 3-4 days..

In our stomach their is a layer of epithelial cells which protects the inner lining from the gastric juice
