⚡️ A Skeletal equation means an unbalanced equation.

⚡️ An equation must be balanced in order to comply with the "Law of Conservation of Matter" which states that matter is neither created nor destroyed in the course of a chemical reaction.

⚡️ An unbalanced equation would imply that atoms had created or destroyed.

Hi , There !!!

we need to balance a skeletal chemical equation,

because we know that energy is neither created nor destroyed in chemical reaction.

according to that mass neither be created nor destroyed in chemical reaction this law of conservation of mass given by Lavoisier .

this state that in a chemical reaction mass can't be created and can't be destroyed

eg :-

2 Mg + O2 ==> 2MgO

here we multiply 2 moles of magnesium.

in order to get the product we multiply by 2 moles of product MgO

so that our reaction is balanced and
thus it follow the law of conservation of mass

hope it help you !!

thanks !!!
