We prefer eating a fruit to a biscuit when we are thirsty and there is no water available because -

• Thirst can be only relieved by the water contents which we drink or indirectly consume with the food materials.

• Now,the fruits contain a good amount of water in the edible part of the fruit in order to prevent dryness.

That's why eating fruits means indirectly consuming water contents which can replenish our thirst for water to some extent.
