Question

We take a sheet of paper and cut it equally in two pieces. We made cylinder of one part and Rectangle of other part. After that..we pour some granules of rice in cylinder and same as in rectangle. But at last we conclude that....There is no single rice left in cylindrical but left in that rectangle. My question is why that so?
Why pen refills, water bottles, well and everything being designed in cylindrical but not in rectangle ?
Why why why why why why...................is that so..........................?
