we do not see bright colours in dim light because in our eyes rods and cones are present and at the times of dim light our cones are active and only rods can differentiate colours.

1. The retina in the eye is made of many light sensitive cells.

2. The rod - shaped cells respond to the intensity of the light while the cone - shaped cells respond to various colours.

3. The cone - shaped cells do not respond to faint light.

4. They function only in bright light.

Hence, we usually do not see bright colours in dim light.

Hope it helps!
