We want to put a fence around a rectangular plot. The fence costs ₹ 30per meter. The length and width of the plot are in the ratio 4:3. The total cost of the fencing comes out to be ₹ 1680. Find the length of the plot.

Answer:

Let say Length & width of plot are

4 L & 3L m

Perimeter of Plot = 2 ( Length + width)

= 2 * ( 4L + 3L)

= 14L m

fence costs ₹ 30 per meter.

=> Total cost = 14L * 30 = 420L

The total cost of the fencing comes out to be ₹ 1680

420L = 1680

=> L = 4

Length = 4L = 4 * 4 = 16 m

Width = 3L = 3 * 4 = 12 m
