See brother,you are not the only one facing that. Many students go through that. What I feel brother is, that if you love your subject and if you enjoy studying that then you don't have to work hard.
See,that's the attitude of Indians," Work Hard". But what I feel is, we have to work hard when we don't enjoy or love our branch.
For eg. Athletes work out,run for miles,sweat it out and we say they work hard. Now there are some people who love dancing. They dance in weddings and are all wet with sweat,totally exhausted,still they have that smile on their face. So do we say that they worked hard?

You did not get good marks, but worked hard in the summers, there could be two reasons:
Your answers were wrong or had errors in them.
Try to check if you got wrong answers to the questions you answered. If in case you got wrong answers, you need to practice more in the time constrained manner. Try to create an exam environment and try to do more practice. Give attention to details and solve the question till the end, even if you feel some question is trivial and you would be able to do it, solve till the end.
You are not writing the answers as per the requirement of the examiner.
