Let weight of cat be -x kgs
      weight of dog be -y kgs
      weight of rat be -z kgs
From data x+z = 10 ------1
                x+y =24 -------2
                y+z =20 -------3
Subtract equation 1 frm 2, we get y-z = 14 -----4
Adding equation 3 and 4, we get 2y=34 i.e y=17kgs
Put value of y in equation 2, we get x=7kgs
Putting value of y in equ 3 gives z=3kgs
Hence, weight of cat,dog and rat is 7,17,3 kgs respectively
