(a+b)*2
=(a+b)(a+b)
=a×a+a×b+b×a+b×b
=a*2+ab+ba+b*2
=a*2+b*2+2ab.
Hope it helps

According to the question given, we have (a+b)*2 = a*2+b*2+2ab
Below the solution has been given: (a+b) *2
=( a+b)(a+b)
= a×a+a×b+b×a+b×b
= a*2+ab+ba+b*2
= a*2+b*2+2ab.
So, the origin of the extra 2ab as mentioned in the question, has been explained.
This is a simple mathematical calculation that deals with Algebra and is widely used in a series of algebraic problems and sums.
