West Bengal is situated in India's East part but its name is West Bengal. why?

Because when bengal was partioned by Lord Curzon in 1905 then the lart in India is in west.So it is named as west bengal ,and the other as east bengal.And tht name is followed till this time too.And tht east bengal is known as Bangaladesh.
