Prime minister of India is the head of the government and ministers. He/she is responsible for the proposals for bills in parliament that get converted into legal acts as per constitution. His function is to monitor the performance, proper function of government in implementation of policies and taking care of government employees.
He/she makes decisions on policies along with his colleagues. Running of government machinery, funds allocations to projects or schemes is under the control of government.
President of India is the head of the state. He has the power to summon the parliaments, approve/review the bills passed by the parliament (government), appoint governors in states etc. President has power to dismiss govt. when certain situations occur. President has power over the three defense forces. President has administrative power over the government departments. President can pardon convicts depending on certain conditions. President functions in accordance with the government.
