let the principal be x.

SI =  \frac{p \times r \times t}{100}  =  \frac{x \times 2 \times 2}{100} =  \frac{4x}{100}  =  \frac{x}{25}

Amount = SI+P  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: =  \frac{x}{25}  + x  \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  \frac{x + 25x}{25}  =  \frac{26x}{25}

According to question,

 \frac{26x}{25}  = 20800 \\ x =  \frac{20800 \times 25}{26}  = 20000 \: rs

so, Principal = 20000
