Religion is so pervasive that it having an influence in public life is nearly unavoidable. But that influence should be recognized and should be treated skeptically where its influences on policy and government operation have no reasonably agreed secular counterpart.

I assume that religion in our society's political/public life can be really positive as it engages people in dialogue. You saw priests and ministers from both sides of the barricades in any confrontation and political transition. Religion has long been a "powerful motivator", and that is no different in much of modern warfare

Explanation:

  • Citizens came to feel their first and strongest sense of engagement in religious groups. Religion is in this sense the first public entity. Others believe that moral qualities derive from religion & tradition. It is in these subtle ways that religion has been largely responsible for influencing character  & the sustaining of communities of memory & mutual aid.
  • Religious bodies have historically been crucial sources of protection for the vulnerable, combating inequality and bigotry. The Civil Rights movement of the middle of the century, and the Campaign of the poor are just a few examples of how religion can enhance society 's response to the most urgent needs.
  • Religion is one of the cornerstones of religious and constitutional values. For much of our history , religion was the basis of other legal systems; it is definitely not the only one, but we can not ignore it its existence. Often this leads to conflicts between different religions, as those who practice one religion may be compelled to impose their religious values by rules, or vice versa. Religion is so omnipresent that it is almost inevitable to affect public life. Nevertheless, this power should be noted and viewed skeptically where there is no fairly accepted secular impact on legislation and government operations.
