Hello :D

Explanation:

What amount of ice can be melted by 4,000 cal of heat?

Assumption:

Ice is at 0 (zero) degree C.

Ice melts to water at zero degree C.

Given:

Heat added : 4000 cal.

Latent heat of ice : 80 cal/gm.

No of grams of ice x Latent heat = 4000 cal

56 x 80 = 4000.

So 50 grams of ice at zero degree and at ATM press can be converted into water at zero degree.
