allow parking and transport infrastructure to be used more efficiently. lower household spending on transport. increase the viability of local shops and facilities. encourage walking and cycling - bringing health benefits, reducing the need to own a car and thus reducing emissions.
DISADVANTAGE
Rapid Urbanization. Rapid urbanization occurs when populations move into cities at a rate that is faster than the development of infrastructure. This is usually the result of economic changes that leave rural dwellers and farmers in poverty.
Advantages:-
1)Enhance land values, potentially add a premium to the value of housing
2)Enhances the lifestyle of people. Encourages more health cautiousness when facilities like parks, public spaces are introduced this leads to health benefits.
3)Improvisation in healthcare services. Healthcare is important to society because people get ill, accidents and emergencies do arise and hospitals are needed to diagnose, treat.
Disadvantages:-
1)In a long term, the urban plan is not efficient as it was meant to be because of the increasing population in urban areas. Busy towns or cities can feel crowded and can result in more stress or pressure for an individual.
2)Public transport might not be as reliable as it was supposed to be. Parking of privately owned vehicles may also make the city roads messy.
