alkanes are saturated hydrocarbons while alkenes and alkynes are unsaturated hydrocarbons

Alkanes are saturated hydrocarbons. It contains single bond between carbon-carbon.eg. Methane ,ethane. Alkenes are unsaturated hydrocarbons . It contains double bond betwen carbon-carbon.eg. Ethene,propene. Alkynes are also unsaturated hydrocarbons. It contains triple bond btw carbin-carbon. HOPE IT MAY HELP YOU
