Alkeneynes are acyclic branched or unbranched hydrocarbons having one carbon–carbon double bond and one carbon–carbon triple bond.
-alkenyne contains 1double bond and 1 triple bond.
-The chain is numbered to minimize the numbers assigned to the double or triple bond.
-The suffix of the compound is “-ene” for an alkene or “-yne” for an alkyne.
-An unsaturated hydrocarbon containing at least one carbon—carbon triple bond between two carbon atoms.

Alkynes are hydrocarbons containing carbon-carbon triple bond. They exhibit neither geometric nor optical isomerism. The simplest alkyne is ethyne (HCCH), commonly known as acetylene, as shown at right.
