Alkynes:-
- Alkynes are unsaturated hydrocarbons that have carbons bonded to each other by triple bonds.
- The general formula of the alkyne series is CₙH₂ₙ₋₂
- All the members of the alkyne family have suffix -yne.
- These molecules have very high bond strength and greater than that of alkanes and alkenes.
The first member of the alkyne series is ethyne.
