Answer:

A huge number of electoral malpractices occur during elections in India. Most of them go unreported in most of the mainstream media outlets.

Distribution of cash, liquor or any other such gifts to electorate in exchange for their votes.

Intimidation of their political opponents and their supporters. It especially occurs during by -elections or when candidates with strong criminal background are fighting the elections.People owning allegiance to a opponent are sometimes not even allowed to leave their homes on voting days.

Creating communal tensions or riots in the area or creating enimity between different castes or other such classifications to gain the vote of particular religion or caste.

One of the most common but unreported election malpractice especially in rural areas of India is booth capturing. The supporters of a particular candidate capture a polling booth mostly with cohort support of local police and do not allow their political opponents to enter the polling area. Then they uniliterally poll as many votes in favour of their candidate as possible. The votes of those people are also cast who have not even come to vote.

Registration of false police cases against their political opponents to prevent them from campaigning or to force them to abstain from the elections.

In local municipal and panchayat elections the nomination papers of opposition candidates are wrongfully rejected by ruling party with help from local administration.
