  • The excretory matter in these animals is Ammonia

  • They require a large amount of water.

  • Excretion takes place by diffusion through gill surfaces as ammonium ions.

  • The excretory matter is highly toxic.

  • Examples:- Tadpoles

Ureotelic Animals:

  • The excretory matter is urea.

  • They require less water as compared to ammonotelic animals.

  • The urea is released into blood by the liver which is filtered and excreted out by kidneys.

  • The excretory matter is less toxic than ammonia.

  • Examples:- Mammals
