antacids are substance that reduce the acidity of the stomach. it also relieved heartburn, ingestion.
when antacids like Mg(Oh)2,Al(Oh))2 react with HCl in the stomach it produced salt and water.
HCl +Mg(OH)2=MgCl + H2O
thus this reaction is a neutralisation reaction.
Hence the acidity of the stomach is neutralised by the reaction of antacids.
