what are antacids why they are important?

Antacids contains Mgo(magnesium oxide)to neutralize the acid.Actually Antacids contain bases.So a doctor advises us to take an antacid tablet when we have hyperacidity.It neutralizes the acid to form salt and water.

Antacids are the base which neutralise acid and it is aslo called Magnesium oxide or milk of magnesia. It is generally used to neutralised acidity.
