Antigens are substances (usually proteins) on the surface of cells, viruses, fungi, or bacteria. Nonliving substances such as toxins, chemicals, drugs, and foreign particles (such as a splinter) can also be antigens. The immune system recognizes and destroys, or tries to destroy, substances that contain antigens

Antigens:

  • The antigens are foreign germs or foreign bodies which results in disease in the body and leads to various problems like autoimmune disease and certain orther deadly disease.
  • The antibodies are produced in the human body which fights against these antigens and results in good body condition.
  • The antigen may be viral particle or bacterial particle or even own body cells in case of autoimmune disease, hence antibodies act against antigens resulting in good health.
