Archaebacteria are the member of Kingdom Monera. They can be found anywhere even in harsh habitats like salty area, marshy areas , and hot springs. They differ from other bacteria in having a different cell wall structure and this feature is responsible for their survival in extreme conditions.
Ex- Methanogens, Halophiles

• These are most primitive type of bacteria.

• Cell membrane contains branched chain lipids.

• They can bear extremes of heat and pH.

• Archaebacteria includes Halophiles, Thermoacidophiles and methanogens.

→ Halophiles: Live in extreme salty areas.

→ Thermoacidophiles: Found in hot springs.

→ Methanogens: Obligate anaerobes, found in Marshy areas.
