The ears of most young people respond to sound frequency of between 20 Hz and 20000 Hz.

Audible sounds- The sounds of frequencies between 20 hz and 20000 Hz that can be detected by the human ear is called audible sounds.

Inaudible sounds- The sounds of frequencies less than 20 Hz and more than 20000 Hz cannot be detected by the human ear. Ssuch sounds are called inaudible sounds.

Frequencies of less than 20 Hz are called infrasonic sounds.

Frequencies that are higher than 20000 Hz are called ultrasonic sounds.
