Answer:

  • Capillaries are the minute thin walled vessels of the body.
  • Any of the smallest arterioles with venules and it forms network to the body.
  • In other words it is the smallest blood vessels.
  • It is about 5-10ums big.
  • It enables to move oxygen, carbondioxide, water and other chemical waste as well as other nutrients in between blood and surrounding tissues.
  • Capillaries are situated within the tissues of body.
  • It transport blood from arteries to viens.
  • The exchange of chemical waste, oxygen . nutrients etc are happens through two ways : 1. Passive diffusion 2.Pinocytosis.
  • There are three types of capillaries  : 1. Continuous capillaries  2.Fenestrated capillaries  3.Sinusoid capillaries.

  • Capillaries are the fine branching blood vessels, which form a network between arterioles and venules.
  • Diameter of capillary is avg 8 micro meter.
  • Wall of capillary is one cell thick.
  • They do not consists of veins.
  • They forma highly branched network called the capillary bed.
  • They allows the movement of oxygen, nutrients and metabolic waste between blood and extracellular fluid.
  • Capillaries involved in micro circulation.
  • Occurs in skeletal muscle, skin, gonads, renal glomerulus, etc.
  • They have a basal lamnia, supporting endothelial cells.
  • Types of capillaries are - 1. Continuous capillaries, 2. Fenestrated capillariea and 3. Discontinuous capillaries.
