Cauline and Ramal leafs:

In some plants, leaves are found on nodes of the main stem. The plants like coconut, palms show the main axis where leaves are attached directly to the nodes of the main stem. These leaves are called cauline leaves.

In some plants like mango, litchi, etc the leaves are found on the nodes of the branches and sub-branches of the main stem. These leaves are called Ramal leaves. Big trees also do have cauline leaves at their starting of life when there were no branches of stems.
